Fortuna Silver Mines boosted production by close to a third last year at its Mexico and Peru silver mines. Fortuna (NYSE:FM, TSE:FVI) said it produced 2.5 million ounces of silver in 2011, a 31% increase over 2010. First Quantum Minerals, the Vancouver-based copper miner embroiled in a dispute with the Congolese government over expropriation of one of its key assets, has sold its mines in the Central African country.
